According to Expandedramblings.com, Fiverr has about 830000 sellers and 3.4 million active buyers registered on the site. Founded in 2010, now it is one of the biggest online marketplaces for buying and selling different types of services.
I started my first gig on Fiverr back in 2014. It was a transcription gig. At that time, obviously, there was much less competition and my gig ranked within a few days. I didn’t do anything specifically to rank. I just kind of almost copied other top-ranking Transcription gigs and created my own.
Anyways, Fiverr is now much more crowded and you will not rank easily for a competitive keyword. But there’s still a lot of money to be made. To make money on Fiverr in 2021, you need to do your keyword research properly.
If you have newly joined Fiverr, don’t get scared of the competition. There is something for everyone here. If you think, only people who are on Fiverr for years get all the gigs, you are wrong. In this article, I am going to show you how to rank your Fiverr gig on the first page or more specifically, how to create a gig that will rank for a particular keyword.
Fiverr keyword research
Before creating a gig on Fiverr, you need to do a little bit of keyword research. It’s very important. So let’s start.
First of all, log in to your Fiverr account. After that, on the top right corner, click “Switch to Buying”. Now you are a buyer in Fiverr’s eye and can see the homepage as a buyer would see.
Type any keyword related to your service. For example, I am going to offer a service related to keyword research.
In the above image above, we can see that there about 4648 gigs that are ranking for this keyword. These are your competitors. Let’s check the other keywords. Your aim here is to look for keywords that have the lowest number of people offering services.
In the above image, you could see the suggested keywords. These are buyer’s keywords which means these are the keywords that buyers are searching. Check them one by one by entering in the search box and clicking the “SEARCH” button. Compare the results and check if you find any keyword with less competition.
Now, look at this. This keyword has only 2000 gigs. Here you have to fight against 2000 gigs, to rank yours, which is not that tough. Now, look at the image below. There are only 729 gigs competing for the keyword “kgr keyword research”. You can see many newly created gigs are also ranking here and getting orders. So it will be very easy to rank for this keyword and get your first order.
Another tip here. Put underscore before the keyword. Now you will see what people type before the keyword.
How to find more relevant keywords on Fiverr
Now you can find relevant keyword. Open first 8-10 gigs that are ranking for the main keyword and find the most relevant keywords which are being used by almost everyone
Keyword implementation on Fiverr
Now you have your keywords. You need to implement your keywords in a proper way While creating your gig, put all the keywords in the ‘Title” box (just like in the image below)
Here, the title doesn’t have to mean anything for the moment. Just enter all the keywords that you have found after doing your research and create the gig. Now you might ask, why do I need to do this? Because whatever you put in this section becomes your URL which is good for SEO. Even if you change the “Title” later, the URL will not change.
Click save and continue. After creating the gig edit the title and put a sensible and meaningful Title this time using your primary keyword.
After Title, come to the description. The first three lines are very important. You should repeat your main keyword here in a meaningful way. Previously it was possible to rank by just staffing all your keywords here. But that doesn’t work anymore. You might rank at first but
once your gig becomes popular, you might get into trouble
You need to optimize your gig images too. What you have to do here is, first download your images, videos from your gigs, copy all the keywords that you put on the “Title” box while creating your gig, and then rename your images with these keywords. Not only images but also if you have any PDF files or have created any video for your gig, do the same. Optimizing images and videos before uploading will help your gigs rank faster.
You can see in the image below that my gig is already getting impressions and even clicks.
Promote your gig on social media
The m You need to give your gig some exposure. Start joining groups related to your niche on Facebook, Linkedin, etc, and post your gig. You will start getting some impressions on your gig which will be helpful for ranking. There are lots of buyers on these sites.
So, after you rank on fiverr for your keyword, you will start getting orders. If you deliver good service and get good ratings from buyers, your gig will slowly start ranking for other bigger keywords.
