There is no such thing as the best WordPress plugin. It just depends on your requirements. You choose your plugins depending on the functionality you are looking for.

Best WordPress plugins for blogs

As mentioned at the start, I have made a list of plugins that every new WordPress Blogger needs. This list includes 10 must-have WordPress plugins for bloggers who are just starting out their blogging journey.

1. Akismet

Akismet is an anti-spam plugin. It protects your site against spam and spam comments. It is the best and one of the most popular plugins to protect from spam. First, install and activate the plugin. After that, you have to configure and set your API key.

2. Rank Math(or All in One SEO)

You need an SEO plugin for optimizing your articles for search engines. This is called on-page SEO. Be it Rank Math or All in One SEO, both of them are good. There is another one called Yoast SEO which is fine too. I personally prefer Rank Math.

3. Elementor

Elementor is a page builder. You can build a high-quality professional WordPress website by using Elementor. You will be able to add advanced styling, design elements, and layouts by using Elementor. Elementor has both a free version and a paid version. The paid version has more functionalities. You cannot design headers and footers with Elementor free version. Either you have to upgrade to premium or you can download another free plugin called the “Elementor Header and Footer Builder” plugin. Some theme even has their own Header and Footer builder. For example, if you are using the Astra theme, it comes with an in-build Header and Footer builder option. You don’t need anything else.

4.WPForms

This plugin lets you create a form on your WordPress website. It is an easy-to-use form builder. If you want to create a “Contact Us” form on your website, you can easily do that with WPForms by doing some simple drag and drop. You can build different types of forms like contact forms, donation forms, online surveys, and various other types of forms.

5. UpdraftPlus

It is a plugin for backing up your website. This tool automatically creates a backup for your website. Creating a backup for your website is very important because your website might get hacked and you could lose all your data. Also, your hosting provider has the right to delete all your data and terminate your account. UpdraftPlus regularly creates automatic backups that you can later use to restore your site if for some reason the site crashes.

6. WP Rocket

WP Rocket is a WordPress caching plugin. It will improve the speed of your site and will help it load faster. And we already know that speed is one of the most important factors when it comes to ranking on Google. If your website is slow, it will be really difficult for you to get traffic from Google.

But WP Rocket is not free. If you want a free alternative, you can go for W3 Total Cache.

7. Google site kit

It is Google’s official WordPress Plugin. Well, Google provides a lot of free tools for website owners such as Google Analytics, Google search console, Google page speed insight, Google Tag Manager etc. These tools are used for tracking various data points such as website visits, conversions, website speed, and a lot more. Previously, we had to install and configure all those plugins one by one. Managing all of them differently could be a big headache. So, Google came up with a plugin called Google site kit which makes the job of adding these tools pretty easy. You can also access all the insights provided by these tools from one place, i.e directly from WordPress Dashboard. In simple words, Site Kit simplifies the process of integrating these webmaster tools with WordPress.

8. Shared Counts

It is a social media plugin for WordPress. You will be able to add social share buttons on your website after you install Shared Counts. It also shows the number of shares, which helps with social proof.

9. Contextual related posts plugin

This is a plugin that shows visitors similar content. It keeps visitors engaged with your site by showing them content that they like. It is a free plugin and automatically generates a list of related content based on the title and content of the post or article.

10. Content views plugin

You can use this plugin to display your posts in a grid layout. For example, you want to show your posts on your homepage in a grid layout. That can be done easily with this plugin. Please check the video below.
